These are large turquoise openings that connect to larger underwater cave system and were specifically chosen for the resort's location. Because the ancient Mayans considered cenotes sacred, their properties appealed to the resort's developers. As supposed centers of energy and spiritual communication, the idea is to focus that energy for guests.
