This week the British-based travel book company, Rough Guide, polled their audience on what they considered to be the most beautiful country in the world. This global beauty pageant toted many eligible candidates, but there was only room for one at the top. Readers from around the world joined in, offering their opinions on which nation deserved the slot.
Early this week, Rough Guide released their results. The world’s number one country wasn’t New Zealand, Switzerland, or Italy, but Scotland.
Perhaps an unsuspecting contender at first glance, Scotland is a small but extraordinary land. Nestled amidst the British Isles, Scotland has much more to offer than its traditional kilts and mysterious tales of the infamous Loch Ness Monster.
