There is something enchanting about a Christmas train whisking across a wintery landscape. This Christmas, kids can live out this holiday fantasy thanks to the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum. The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum is in Portland, Maine. Their seasonal operation runs from May through October and on select weekends in April. The train runs from November 24 through December 23 this year.

In true Polar Express style, hot chocolate and cookies are a part of the experience. Kids can enjoy the holiday snack as they listen to a reading of the original story. Of course, such a trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa himself. Santa hops aboard the train to greet eager guests on the ride back to the station.

Train ticket prices are $29 for guests beginning ages 2 and older. The train ride itself lasts for 45 minutes. You can purchase tickets for the Polar Express online beginning in early September.
